Well, after 18 years, I figured it was time to start preserving the wonderful world and memories of the JBL. It all began in 1991 after graduating high school. Fantasy Sports were just starting up really and it was mostly NFL and NHL pools that everyone signed up for. But why not basketball pools? Maybe it was because we didn't have our own NBA franchise? Maybe it was because Steve Nash hadn't taken center stage yet? But for me, a person who didn't even play high school basketball, I always wanted to start a Fantasy Basketball League. And so I did.
It was small initially. Only 4 teams. But it has grown since then. I think there have been approximately 25 guys that have come (and gone) through the league. We currently have 12 owners. It's a fun league. Some guys are crazy passionate for it; some do it because they just love doing Fantasy pools. I love it. From October to April - there isn't a day that goes by where I haven't gone online and looked at the site, my team, or some related b-ball site. Now, in my mid-30's, I am still as passionate about the JBL as I was when I started it.
I'm creating this blog because there are many days that something occurs in the JBL that is worth mentioning. Worth saving to re-live down the road. A bad trade offer. A funny comment. A road trip to Portland with your 3 buddies. All worth saving! And so it begins...another chapter in the JBL Legacy
