Back Again For More...

I'm hearing that Nick Young has been offered in over 400 deals to one JBL team. I think it's only been about 100 times to me....

Some talk around the latest Sullinger for Jackson trade. I rank them pretty close to each other actually. Sullinger has some long term keeper potential as a $1 dollar player for Brussels while Jackson is a decent Guard in OKC. And really, why not make a trade like this if you're Montreal? Go on. Try something. What's the worst that could happen?

The Lakers are a mess. Absolute mess. And if your Phoenix - do you really want to move on Pau Gasol? First of all, the Suns weren't supposed to be a playoff team to begin with. And if you acquire Gasol (while giving up 1st round picks in a very deep draft) are you really going to beat the Spurs, Thunder, Clippers, Warriors or Blazers in a 7 game series? Does Pau put you over the top? I'm not so sure. I don't move on him if I'm the Suns.

Rumors have the Bobcats/Hornets interested in Evan Turner. He would add another scoring piece to a team that desperately needs to make the playoffs just to appease Michael Jordan. Would a core of Jefferson, Walker, and Turner be good enough to actually win a playoff round in the East?? Maybe. They are only 3-4 games back of hosting a playoff series. That's how bad the Eastern Conference is....

I'm surprised how much press Lance Stephenson's exclusion from the playoff roster is getting. I get it, he's having an excellent year for the team with the best record in the league. He's averaging 14ppg, 7reb, 5ast while shooting 50% from the field. But I'm not sure it's that big an issue. I agree that Joe Johnson was not a deserving pick. But I think Kyle Lowry should have made the team before Lance. Or how about Kemba Walker for the 8th seed Bobcats. He's averaging 19-5-4 with 60 steals and 20 blocks. Or what about Arron Afflalo who is averaging 20ppg, 4ast, 4reb while shooting 47/42. So, my point, I don't get all the fuss over Lance not making it...there are lots of guys deserving. And don't even get me started on Anthony Davis not making it as a reserve - especially when the game is in New Orleans! Davis should replace Kobe but it's a crying shame he didn't make it on his own.

Guys I like as keepers for next season...
Arctic - Bradley Beal - improving and #2 scorer for the playoff bound Wizards.
Arctic - Kobe Bryant - if he gets healthy for next season, isn't a healthy Kobe still going to average 20+ppg?
Bangkok - Evan Turner - 18/6/4 is nice. The 28% from downtown is not.
Brussels - Damian Lillard - scoring PG getting better and leading my Blazers to the playoffs
Brussels - Lance Stephenson - not an All-Star....yet.
Brussels - Nikola Vucevic - highly underrated big man
Chwk - Kevin Martin - another big time scorer for cheap
Chwk - Andre Drummond - top 2 keeper in my books. Wished he scored more than 13ppg
French - DeAndre Jordan - really like him. #1 in rebounds and #4 in blocks and he shoots 65%
Idaho - Rajon Rondo - can he return to his big numbers with a rag-tag bunch in beantown?
Idaho - Derrick Rose - what shape will he return in next season?
Idaho - Taj Gibson - this could be the year the Bulls dump Boozer and turn to Gibby
Juan - Arron Afflalo - a 20ppg scorer for just $12 bucks? Ummm, yes please.
Juan - Trey Burke - budding PG for rebuilding Jazz
Juan - Kemba Walker - another high scoring PG on the cheap
Maui - Anthony Davis - #1 keeper in my books. 20ppg, 11reb, 60 steals and 130 blocks
Maui - Chandler Parsons - all around stud and he's white? 17ppg and shoots 49/39.
Maui - Spencer Hawes - overlooked do-it-all Center for rebuilding Sixers
Norfolk - Isaiah Thomas - Can you believe he's a 20ppg scorer?? Awesome pick.
Norfolk - Trevor Ariza - a resurgent year for him.
Norfolk - Marcin Gortat - OK, I'm a fan of the cheap Wizards out there
Norfolk - Anderson Varejao - if only he could stay healthy
Seoul - Michael Carter-Williams - stat stuffing PG that can't shoot is going to be a good one
Seoul - DeMar DeRozan - the big scorer in TO is now a legit top 10 PPG in the NBA

As you can see - I like a lot of guys for next season. These guys are all undervalued in my books and it will be interesting to see if any of them get moved before the Keeper Trade Deadline (NBA All-Star weekend).
