Up For Grabs

The morning of April 3rd shows a tight race a top of the JBL Standings. Well, not for 1st place as Mr. Woo is now over 1000 points. Clearly, Seoul is your 08/09 champion. The only question left will be can he set the record for most points? The record is officially 981 in our standard 12-team league. One season, we ran with a ghost team, so the league had 13 teams and Chilliwack topped the 981 point barrier. However, for our 12 team league, the most common number of teams we've had, 981 is the number and it certainly appears Seoul will shatter that mark.

The tight standings I am referring to is spots #2 thru #4. Golden, Wack, and Idaho are within 14 points of each other and there is still lots of room for movement.

Let's break it down by category.

3PT% - Idaho is at 38.6 and Seoul is 38.3. Slight possibility of Idaho dropping - but I think they stay right there. The Wack is at 37.7 and Golden is 37.5. This is tight and could change as the Wack has dropped a bit and Golden has been hot in 3PT%.

ATO - Golden dropped 13pts last night and will likely drop 13 more by the end of the week. Brussels and Arctic will both pass Golden. There goes 13 points. Idaho is chasing Boston...he's at 1.752 and Boston is at 1.834 - so I don't think that will change - just not enough time.The Wack is at 1.520 and French is 1.532. It's possible.

FG% - The Wack is at 47.49 and Seoul is 47.54. So, the Wack could gain a big 13 points with a strong finish. On top of that, Bangkok is only at 47.62 - so that's not too far ahead. Golden isn't going anywhere here and Idaho is .4 ahead and behind of the next closest team - so he's done for points here.

BLKS - The Wack is just 10 blocks behind Golden. Golden was free and clear until the Birdman dropped 8 blocks last night. Idaho is 11 blks ahead of Seoul and 12 ahead of Brussels. Unlikely either will catch him, but possible. Idaho is 60+ blocks behind Arctic, so no movement upwards.

PTS - The Wack is 130 points behind Dildo and 300+ ahead of Arctic - so unlikely he's moving. Idaho is almost 30 behind Arctic - so he's not moving up. But there is a battle a 4th in scoring as Idaho is just 13 points ahead of Golden in scoring...so this will likely be battled right down to the final night. That's a 40-point swing on the line!!

STLS - Still tight, Wack at 910, Idaho 895, Golden 884. Pearl is 20 steals behind Golden so likely no movement there. Wack is 50 steals behind Seoul, so no movement there. Can Idaho catch the Wack? Can Golden catch Idaho? We'll see.

REBS - The Wack is just 8 rebounds ahead of Juan de Fuca...so that's a battle. Arctic is only 30 rebs behind Golden - so that's not over. Idaho is 23 rebs ahead of Boston - so it's close, but with all of Boston's injuries - Idaho is unlikely to drop.

So...what does it all mean??? It means that the race for 2nd is wide open!!! All we need is one of those horse-racing announcers.......AND DOWN THE STRETCH THEY COME!
